I decided to choose this topic because oral health is vastly overlooked by many individuals, especially older adults. Older adults experience disparities in oral health problems, including caries, periodontal disease, and plaque.Background for my project: My planned intervention will be educational sessions to evaluate the effectiveness of an education program in improving gingival health and reducing plaque. Pre and post-oral health assessments will be conducted to have a baseline and end results of the mentioned intervention. And the theoretical framework to be used will be the Health belief model.
